As long time Seattle residents, we had grown accustomed to taking Alki Beach for granted. One day during construction of the restaurant, we had dinner at Duke’s on Alki. As we sat there, totally relaxed, looking out onto the Sound, we started laughing. The Beach is one of those rare, transformative locales (is this really Seattle?).
